Aruba’s biggest party season is upon us and Chill, the official beer of Carnival 71, is your partner in all things Carnival!  Over the next few weeks, an exciting array of events unfold, each endearing and an important part of the recipe that makes Aruba’s Carnival one of the best in the world.  While many events and parades have been a part of Aruba’s Carnival traditions for generations, over recent years the calendar of events has evolved, offering new colorful twists and turns for the island and our visitors to enjoy.   Here's a breakdown of some of the calendar highlights and can’t-miss events.

Surf’s Up, Aruba!

Cheers to the island’s beach culture Aruba’s placid and calm turquoise seas don’t exactly position Aruba as an obvious surfing destination. But don’t tell that to our island’s surfing community, with several generations of locals relentlessly waiting for just the right moment when the currents align to produce better sets of swells, allowing surfers to hitch much longer rides than the fast-breaking, choppy waves typical of the north coast area most of the year.  

Nelson Molina Wins the 6th Bartenders’ Brawl

On Saturday, October 12, Nelson Molina was chosen as the top bartender during the Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival.  The 6th edition of island lifestyle blog When in Aruba’s Bartenders’ Brawl was a Main Stage event and a co-production with the Aruba Tourism Authority.  The event brought eight of Aruba’s best bartenders to the stage to showcase their mixology magic to a panel of judges that included celebrity bartender Kate Gerwin, a master mixologist, sommelier, and television personality.

Balashi Brewhouse’s Lucky 13!

At the heart of making the island’s signature and top-selling beer is a crew that is lean, mean, and filled with passion and pride.  Thirteen team members synergize in the brewhouse to produce Balashi Brewery’s portfolio of beers, including Chill, Magic Mango, and the beer that started it all 25 years ago—Balashi.
