Magic Mango’s Beach Cuisine Favorites

Aruba has some of the best beaches in the world, and many are home to casually cool beach restaurants.  Elevated beach cuisine paired with the tropical flavors of Aruba’s island lager, Magic Mango, and spectacular views bring foodies a true taste of culinary paradise! Here, we share a few of our favorite spots for island beach cuisine.

Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill

Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill is a lively spot located on Palm Pier between Hilton Aruba and RIU.  Evenings here feature a rotation of live local bands and even salsa lessons.

Magic Mango pairing suggestions:

  • Mahi mahi is a favorite local catch, revered for its mild and sweet taste.  Order a Magic Mango to jive with Bugaloe’s grilled version of this flaky, tropical fish and you have a perfect seaside match.
  • Pair your fun with a Magic Mango and one of their new Shack bowls.  We suggest partnering our island lager with the Dushi Bowl, based with quinoa and topped with broccoli, mushrooms, corn, pico de gallo, sweet potato, and a spicy Asian mayo.
Pelican’s Nest

Located on a pier on Palm Beach between Holiday Inn and Playa Linda, Pelican’s Nest features a menu with plenty of variety, but seafood is the highlight here.

Magic Mango pairing suggestions:

  • Jumbo shrimp tossed in their signature Caribbean curry with Caribbean polenta, sweet plantain, and Jasmine rice.  These island flavors are a great match for Magic Mango.
  • Angler’s Catch—this salad is topped with pineapple, tomato, cucumber, red pepper, crispy wontons, almonds, and candied bacon (you can add shrimp, mahi mahi, chicken, or crispy tofu).  An ice-cold Magic Mango will really highlight the pineapple and candied bacon of this salad.
Matthew’s Beachside Restaurant

Ride the culinary wave to Matthew’s, located on award-winning Eagle Beach. Whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there’s plenty of beach cuisine offerings to please your palate.

 Magic Mango pairing suggestions:

  • A great pairing combo is the goat cheese wrapped in Italian Prosciutto Ham with Magic Mango.  The mango essence brings a nice balance to the creaminess of the cheese and salt in the ham.
  • Crab cakes by the sea—is there a better place to enjoy this classic?  Matthew’s does a Baltimore-style crab cake with a roasted pepper aioli.
Battata Beach Bar

If you’re looking for a beach bar that’s off the beaten path and an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle, take the drive to the southern side of the island and enjoy the relaxing vibes at Battata Beach Bar

Magic Mango pairing suggestions:

  • Adjacent to Battata is a small cove and dock for local fishermen.  The fresh catch of the day is always a solid choice!
  • Put your toes in the sand and enjoy a casual beachside favorite.  Battata’s spicy BBQ ribs served beachside and washed down with an ice-cold Magic Mango—now that’s our kind of beach cuisine.  You’re gonna need extra napkins with this one!
