Chill, the Caribbean’s favorite beach beer, is kicking off the summer season on the island of Aruba with the ninth edition of the iconic Flip Flop Festival. After a hiatus since the last edition in 2018, the beloved music festival, which is synonymous with Aruba’s celebrated summertime beach lifestyle, is back bigger and better than ever.
Taking place on Saturday, June 1, two staging areas will be set up at the seaside venue of Bushiri Beach Arena, showcasing local, regional, and international artists throughout the event.
Headliners include Soca superstars KES from Trinidad; popular international DJ Latu, featuring Steve Andreas; Dominican artist, rapper, and singer Angel Dior; and Mical Teja, award-winning recording artist, songwriter, and producer from Trinidad & Tobago. Bringing additional spice and flavor to the festival, other acts include reggae performers Ziggy Recado & The Navamari Band, and a long list of local performers and deejays.
Keeping the expected 5,000+ festivalgoers refreshed, there will be plenty of ice-cold Chill in cans from the island’s national brewery, Balashi Brewery. The brewery’s parent company, Tropical Bottling, will have a Bacardi Mojito Bar, as well as mixed Grey Goose Vodka cocktails, D’usse Cognac, and Coca-Cola products. Tasty and on-point street food will also be featured.
Teaming up with Ecotech, an environmentally conscious waste removal company on the island, Balashi Brewery’s sustainable mindset will be at the forefront of event planning and cleanup, with a goal to leave the beach spotless with only flip-flop footprints left behind. The brewery is an island industry leader in sustainability, achieving notable certifications including ISO certifications, ensuring that the brewery runs its business using international standards for products, services, and processes.
