The hidden gem of Rancho, a historic neighborhood in downtown Oranjestad that was once a fishing village in the 1800’s, has a new resident. Beer Garden Aruba opened its door in late April, boasting vintage charm and a fresh boho beach-house vibe. The indoor environs pay homage to its over 100-year old history (it’s one of the oldest standing houses in Oranjestad), with one side of the house lending its space as a beer-tasting room, while the other side of the home is dedicated to private events and groups. The original rock walls were opened up in several areas, offering a widow to this bygone architectural era of Aruba.
The tropical garden features several relaxation spaces to kick back with an ice-cold Balashi, Chill, or Magic Mango at local prices, whether cozying up on one of the couches, enjoying a quaint retreat at a courtyard café table for two, or gathering with the gang at one of the wooden picnic tables. The bar is also located in a covered outdoor space, where you can strike up a conversation with manger Luc and his team of friendly bartenders.
A menu of snacks and small tastes can be enjoyed here, or mosey next door to neighboring Nusa for authentic Indonesian fare presented in a lovely garden setting.
Beer Garden Aruba is open Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to midnight, Friday and Saturday 5pm to 1am.
