The Bottling Company Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery used in bottling operations and utilities. Basic Function:
The Bottling Company Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery used in bottling operations and utilities. Specific Responsibilities:
- Machinery Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and repair of bottling equipment/machinery and utilities. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Technical Analysis: Interpret technical documents, schematics, and work orders to assess maintenance needs. Plan repair and installation processes to optimize efficiency and resource use.
- Installation & Testing: Assemble, install, test, and maintain mechanical components and systems. Ensure all installations meet operational and safety standards.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical faults and identify corrective actions. Utilize diagnostic tools to pinpoint and resolve operational inefficiencies.
- Safety & Compliance: Assess machinery and work procedures to identify safety risks and recommend improvements. Enforce compliance with industry safety standards and company policies.
- Cost & Resource Management: Provide cost estimates for materials and repairs. Upkeep of spare parts and ensure timely availability of resources.
- Equipment Inspection & Documentation: Conduct routine inspections of bottling machinery and mechanical components. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report findings to management.
- Team Collaboration & Training: Work closely with other technicians and production staff to ensure smooth operations. Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians as needed.
- Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reduce maintenance costs. Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities align with production goals.
- Assist in Production Line: Assist in the production line if necessary during emergencies or as instructed by supervisor/Chief Engineer.
Integrated Management Systems Responsibilities:
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in strict accordance with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) policies and procedures.
- HACCP Principles: Understand and apply the principles of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) to identify, evaluate, and control hazards that could compromise product safety.
- Environmental Practices: Ensure all maintenance and operational practices adhere to environmental regulations and standards, minimizing environmental impact. Promote sustainable practices within the maintenance team.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in IMS reviews and improvement initiatives, suggesting practical changes to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and any incidents related to IMS compliance.

- Interdepartmental Communication: Maintain good working relationships and communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Procedure Compliance: Comply with the procedures and instructions in the Employee Handbook and the IMS manual of TBC/BNB.
- ISO Norms: Adhere to procedures and requirements according to ISO norms.
- Equipment Use: Use equipment, machines, transport means, tools, and materials correctly and safely.
- Personal Protection: Use personal protection materials as regulated by TBC/BNB or as instructed by the supervisor.
- Audit Assessment: Monthly execution of job site inspections on jobs/locations he is responsible for; guarding and performing actions resulting thereof.
- Administration: Supplies periodically administrative data to the HR Coordinator and to the administration on time.
Job Profile:
- Level of Education: MTS/EPI – Mechanical/Electrical.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar position.
